We would like to build on the success of the scheme in 2007 and launch it again on 12th Jan 2008 for a further 23 week period.

Every time an ASDA customer uses an alternative to new carrier bags, they are given a voucher. The vouchers are collected and redeemed by local schools for environmentally linked prizes such as bird view remote cameras, solar panels, weather stations and grow beds.

All 2800 schools who took part in 2007 will be invited to join the scheme, plus a further 4000 schools will be invited. This website will be live throughout the whole of 2008, even after the scheme has ended. Schools will be able to download activity work sheets to use in conjunction with the prizes they claim as well as research interesting environmental facts to use in lesson plans.

Registered schools will be sent a promotional kit including awareness posters, totaliser poster, collection box, parental letters and external banner. Events Coordinators from local ASDA stores will maintain contact with schools before, and throughout the 23 weeks, delivering awareness sessions and assembly plans to motivate the school to collect more vouchers. There is a limit to the number of items which may be ordered, redemptions levels are capped at 4000 vouchers per school, the Scheme is restricted to one order per school.

"I write with sincere thanks and delight to thank you. We are absolutely thrilled with the wind turbine kit. Our Science Department was wishing for one of these but their budget would not stretch so far at the moment. They are thrilled to bits. Again, thank you so much, it will be put to very good use by our girls."

The children are excited and enthused and eager to set up the mini green houses and can crushers.....! We really do appreciate the contribution to our school and the Eco Club. You have got our club off the ground! Thank you once again."

"Thank you so much for the environmental prizes. We really work hard here to help our children find out more about the environment and how to look after it. The kits you sent will really help us do this."
